The staff were very nice and accommodating. I was very sad they had run out of their Portavogie prawn sandwich. Instead I got their chowder which, as a starter/light bite, was very filling.
The chowder was made of smoked monkfish and haddock (if I remember right) and a good whack of bacon. This wasn’t detailed on the menu I don’t believe so be advised that it isn’t suitable for pescatarians. The Guinness wheaten bread was delicious, and so was the chowder, but I wasn’t able to finish on account of how salty it was. I probably could have if I got a cold drink instead of a coffee (oops).
I had a vanilla latte with oat milk and I thought it was really well made, I enjoyed it thoroughly. My dining companions told me that the goats cheese salad was really good, came with a really good portion of goats cheese, but perhaps the salad could do with a bit more variety than just leaves. They also said the burger was good, good quality cheese, and the chips were fresh out the kitchen.
Lovely and quaint. Guiness wheaten bread was super fluffy, paté and prawns perfect. Great staff, very welcoming.
